In Fact if you have the time, there are even more attractions to be found in the west bank area & its most impressive sites , where visitors can also enjoy another full day to the west bank of Luxor to visit Medinet Habu; the Valley of the Nobles and Deir el Medina temple.
In the first
hour we will pick you up from the hotel or boat where you are staying to go to
the western shore of Luxor, the area of the ancient Thebes necropolis.
Our first stop
will be Medinet Habu, where the mortuary temple of Ramses III is located, one
of the most important religious monuments in the city. Its entrance is 63
meters wide and 22 meters high and represents the pharaoh punishing prisoners.
The tour
continues heading to the Valley of the Nobles, where there are more than 500
graves of high officials of the Theban government. We will go into several of
the tombs to discover their decoration, much better preserved than that of the
royal tombs for having been less interesting for looters.
Our last stop
will be Deir el-Medina, an Egyptian town founded by Tuthmosis I to accommodate
the workers and craftsmen of Ancient Egypt. For more than 450 years this town
was inhabited by the builders and decorators of the royal tombs. Many
archaeological evidences are still preserved, making this one of the most
studied towns of the time.
The tour ends
again at the hotel or boat where you are staying.
