Explore el magnífico templo de Seti I en Abydos con sus impresionantes colores y relieves, y ... Visita a los templos de Dendera y Abydos
After picking
you up from the boat or hotel where you are staying, we will leave Luxor to
head towards Abydos, a city located 260 kilometers northwest of the city.
In Abydos we
will enter its famous temple, erected by Seti I in honor of Osiris. This temple
not only represents important scenes from the life of Seti I and Ramses II, but
it is where the famous royal lists are found, with the names of the 77 kings of
Egypt from Menes to Seti I himself.
Abydos was the
largest religious center of pilgrimage in Egypt. Here the "Mysteries of
Osiris" were represented, a ceremony from beyond the grave in which the
death and resurrection of the god was reproduced.
After eating a
picnic lunch we will go to Dendera.
The Dendera
Temple is dedicated to the goddess Hathor and its construction, which began in
the time of Nectanebo I, continued until the Roman time. The temple contains
twelve decorated crypts, two hypostyle rooms, and two burial chapels. From one
of these chapels comes the "zodiac" of the Louvre Museum.
After making
one last stop at the Isis Birth Temple, we will leave Dendera behind to return
to Luxor. We will leave you on the boat or hotel between 17:00 and 18:00.
